Tasted blind at Fine & Rare Wines' Clos Vougeot tasting, the 2013 Clos Vougeot de Musigni Grand Cru from Domaine Gros Frère et Soeur has a sense of airiness on the nose. It is nicely defined, quite floral with rose petal and iris scents floating from the glass, also a meaty, savory note that suggests a touch of brettanomyces. The palate is medium-bodied with fleshy red fruit, however, it is dominated by the mocha-like veneer from the oak that renders it anonymous on the finish.- Neal Martin (11/2015)
A big, rich red, with gamy cherry, spice, sandalwood and olive flavors. Fluid and juicy, offering refined tannins underneath. The finish echoes spice and rose hip tea details, accented by sweet berry fruit. Best from 2018 through 2032. 28 cases imported.- (05/2016)
