Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Beausejour (Duffau Lagarrosse) slips seductively out of the glass with perfumed scents of candied violets, chocolate-covered cherries, lavender and baked plums with nuances of redcurrants, forest floor, mossy bark and new leather. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has bags of grace and finesse with a super fine-grained frame and lovely freshness lifting the intense, perfumed fruits to a very long, mineral-tinged finished. Gorgeous.- Lisa Perrotti-Brown (11/2018)

The 2016 Croix de Beauséjour, the second wine of Château Beauséjour Duffau-Lagarrosse, has a well-defined bouquet of red currant and wild strawberry fruit; the oak is nicely integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly hard tannin on the entry, rendering this more rigid than it needed to be, though bottle age should soften it. Moderate in length. Give it just a couple of years in bottle.- Neal Martin (01/2019)
