The 2015 Pouilly-Fuissé les Maréchaude, the second vintage of this label from the domaine, comes from a very steep vineyard that rendered mechanization impossible. It has a crisp, granitic, almost flinty bouquet that is more austere than say, the "Vignes Blanches," but has razor-like precision. The palate is very well balanced with a crisp line of acidity, citric and quite malic with a strict and transparent finish that really expresses its terroir with style. You would never guess this was born in a warm growing season! - Neal Martin (31-08-2017)

Bright yellow. More subtle and reticent than the Ronchevats, with aromas of ripe pear, pineapple and stone lifted by attractive floral high notes that are rare for 2015. Nicely concentrated and fine-grained but a bit tight; this may be in the process of shutting down in bottle. Ripe peach and citrus flavors lead to a very long, firm-edged finish featuring good citric grip and an element of dusty stone. This is too young to drink now but is balanced from the start--and not a particularly salty style.- Stephen Tanzer (11/2017)
