In the same qualitative ballpark as the Côte Rozier, yet possessing more elegance, the 2015 Côte Rôtie La Brocadre (95% Syrah and 5% Viognier, mostly destemmed and aged in new barrels) offers lots of raspberry and black raspberry notes, as well as new saddle leather, cassis, toasted spice and dried flowers. Full-bodied, pure, layered and downright silky, it’s a brilliant wine that will have two decades of longevity. - Jeb Dunnuck (28-12-2016)

Round and supple, with firm tannins underneath, this red evokes cherry, wild strawberry, tobacco, leather and underbrush flavors. Harmonious in a taut, dense way, offering a long, savory finish. Becomes racier with air, showing fine energy and drive. Best from 2017 through 2032. 1,184 cases made, 200 cases imported. — BS (02/2014)

Brilliant violet. Ripe cherry and boysenberry aromas are complemented by suggestions of smoky minerals, candied flowers and olive. Pliant red/blue fruit flavors show good depth and focus, and licorice and cracked pepper nuances build as the wine opens up. Blends power and vivacity on a long, penetrating finish that features building tannins and lingering floral, olive and smoky mineral notes.- Josh Raynolds (04/2018)
