Dark red with ruby highlights. Very reticent nose hint sat candied berries and smoky minerals. Then sweet, sappy and brisk on the palate, delivering an exciting balance of sucrosité and mineral-driven acidity. The black raspberry and crushed-stone flavors mount impressively on the long, refined back end. Shows a medicinal reserve that suggests this wine will be a slow developer, but even today the tannins are nicely buffered by fruit.- Stephen Tanzer (01/2016)
