From a cold, rain-plagued year, the 2011 Chardonnay La Carriere exhibits a light straw color with a greenish hue as well as notes of honeyed brioche, orange marmalade, buttery citrus and terrific fruit. More evolved and seductive than the 2010 at present, the 2011 is a beautiful wine that should drink well for 7-8 years. - Robert M. Parker, Jr. (30-12-2013)

The 2011 La Carriere is huge and bombastic on the palate, with massive fruit, tons of intensity and little in the way of finesse or complexity. Caramel, popcorn and copious French oak wrap around the rich, textured finish. I am not sure what happened here. A year ago La Carriere was a subtle, perfumed Chardonnay. Today is super-intense and sweet, with little in the way of vintage expression.- Antonio Galloni (02/2014)
