From a vineyard planted high on Atlas Peak, the saturated ruby/purple-colored 2001 Zinfandel Mead Ranch (16% alcohol) offers up aromas of acacia flowers, blueberries, graphite, and a hint of black currants. Perhaps the finest wine I have ever tasted from Atlas Peak, it is a full-bodied, opulent, gorgeously textured wine with tremendous purity, richness, and fruit.
