Finesse, elegance, as well as admirable flavors are characteristics of this dark ruby-colored, lighter-styled 1998. Offering abundant quantities of berry fruit, cassis, and spice box aromas and flavors, and an excellent texture, this evolved, delicious Margaux is best consumed during its first decade of life. Readers are advised to take a closer look at this property, which appears to be making better wines.- Robert Parker Jr. (04/2001)

Very pretty nose, with chocolate and raspberry and a touch of sweet tobacco. Medium-bodied, with silky tannins and a delicate fruit, light earth and chocolate aftertaste.—'88/'98 Bordeaux blind retrospective (2008). Drink now. — JS (2009)
