The 1990 Cos d'Estournel St Estephe 750 ml is from the St Estephe region of Bordeaux.
Not as concentrated as the 1982, or as most of the vintages made since 2001, the 1990 Cos has reached full maturity. It exhibits sweet berry fruit intermixed with spice box, herbs, and spring flowers. Excellent healthy red. Toast, cassis and smoky oak on the nose. Very rich, concentrated and tightly structured; long, firm aftertaste. Excellent balance for aging. (9+?). A second bottle showed similar concentration but was dominated by oak, its finish marred by astringent wood tannins. This bottle rated only 85.- Stephen Tanzer (11/1993)
