The successful 1982 La Croix is slightly less alcoholic than the big, massive 1983, but dark ruby, with layers of ripe, rich fruit, soft tannins, and an impressively long, spicy finish. Anticipated maturity: Now-2000. Last tasted, 1/91.- Robert M. Parker, Jr. (01/1998)
Medium reddish-brick color. Aromas of red berry jam, coffee and menthol, with an exotic note of orange peel. Began silky, sweet and fat, but showed an increasing sour edge with aeration. Finishes long and ripely tannic, with some intrusive acidity. I've always preferred the very good '83, but this is richer than past bottles I've had of this '82.- Stephen Tanzer (07/2002)
