Medium ruby color. Juicy dark berry aromas with hints of sultana raisins and sweet tobacco. Extremely ripe and sweet, with dense blackberry and plum flavors accented by tobacco and smoky herbs. I commented that it reminded me of Cornas, to which Jean-Paul laughed and replied "maybe even further south than that!" Finishes with intense notes of dark cherry, bitter chocolate and espresso. A seriously outsized heavyweight of a Cote-Rotie. ST
