A big, rich, structured effort, the 2014 GSM Vertigo is 68% Syrah, 26% Mourvedre and 6% Grenache. Sporting a saturated purple color, it offers fabulous notes of cassis, blackberries, crushed rock, licorice and dried Provencal herbs (lavender, thyme) in a full-bodied, rich package. One of the more tannic wines from Eric, it needs 2-3 years of bottle age and will have a decade or more of longevity. - Jeb Dunnuck (31-08-2016)

Opaque ruby. Potent, mineral-accented blueberry, cherry liqueur and potpourri aromas are complicated by a suave Asian spice nuance that builds steadily with air. Seamless, round and appealingly sweet, offering palate-staining black and blue fruit preserve and floral pastille flavors and a hint of five-spice powder. Finishes sappy and extremely long, displaying velvety tannins and a late, lingering jolt of candied violet.- Josh Raynolds (09/2016)
