Funky, earthy, slightly stewed, roasted fruit nose and while the flavors are rich and full-bodied, there is a lack of nuance and freshness. This was clearly a substandard bottle. 86/now Note: I've had this several times, most recently in November of 1999 and the wine showed extremely well, scoring 92 points.
