The 2018 Grand Mayne is deep garnet-purple colored and gives up a nose of baked blackberries, prunes and raisin cake with touches of dusty soil, sautéed herbs and fungi. Full and concentrated, with a firm, chewy texture, it delivers a spicy finish.-LPB

The 2018 Grand Mayne has a very intense bouquet with layers of ripe red cherry and cranberry fruit, touches of crème de cassis coming through with time. It is an extroverted Grand Mayne on the nose, though not excessive. The palate is medium-bodied with svelte, fine tannins matched with a lovely seam of acidity. This is silky smooth with great harmony, whilst the finish is plush and long. Jean-Antoine Nony has overseen a really gorgeous and sensual Saint-Émilion this year.-NM
