Bright, light yellow with green highlights. Complex aromas of lemon oil, lime, crushed rock, menthol and licorice complicated by smoky and gamey nuances. Rich and densely packed; comes across as sweeter than the Clos sûr la Roche but a bit reduced today and dominated by strong mineral-driven acidity and saline minerality. Also more backward and phenolic than the Clos sûr la Roche but conveys a powerful impression of tightly coiled energy.- Stephen Tanzer (12/2015)
