The 2013 l'Evangile shows a slightly deeper color as well as more noticeable ripe raspberry and black cherry fruit intermixed with notions of licorice and incense. Again, there is no hint of herbaceousness or tannic astringency in this mid-weight, slightly superficial, but charming, pretty 2013. Consume it over the next 7-8 years.- Robert Parker Jr. (08/2014)
Not shy, with charcoal and bitter cocoa notes, accented by plenty of tobacco details. The core of dark plum, currant paste and fig flavors pulls all the elements together through the finish. A frankly muscular style that is both ambitious and surprisingly successful in this vintage. Best from 2018 through 2028. 2,000 cases made. — JM (03/2016)
Dark ruby. Intense, pure blackcurrant, gunflint and violet aromas on the precise nose. Then very pure and suave in the mouth, with clean, well-delineated flavors of small dark berries and minerals showing noteworthy persistence. A major success for the year.- Ian D'Agata (05/2014)
