The 2012 Gevrey-Chambertin Cuvee de la Brunelles comes from the clos conjoined onto the winery (which incidentally you look out upon when tasting the wines chez Roty) Deep in color, it has dark berry fruit on the nose, hints of orange rind and wild mushroom that are nicely defined. The palate is smooth and succulent on the entry. This is an ebullient, ravishing Gevrey-Chambertin with plump, rounded black fruits, good structure but just a little too showy on the finish. It is packed full of flavor, but it needs more finesse.- Neal Martin (12/2013)
90 pts - Vinous
Good medium red. Expressive aromas of redcurrant, raspberry and coffee, plus a suggestion of dried fruits. At once sweet and salty on the palate, offering a pliant texture to its slightly reduced flavors of strawberry and raspberry. A cut above the Champs Chenys in concentration and shape. Finishes with supple, harmonious tannins and noteworthy persistence.- Stephen Tanzer (03/2015)
