The most flamboyant wine at present is the 2007 Chardonnay Lauren Vineyard. It reveals more tropical fruit, pineapple, orange marmalade, lemon blossom, creme brulee, and white peach notes as well as superb acidity, and a full-bodied texture as well as mouthfeel. It, too, will age well for a decade. - RP (2/2010)

Rich, smoky oak and creamy fig and melon flavors fold together nicely in this full-bodied beauty. Focused, complex and layered, ending with a long, elegant aftertaste. Drink now through 2013. — JL (12/2009)

(15.8% with a pH of 3.3; Aubert owns this seven-acre planting of Wente clones) Bright yellow. Knockout nose combines underripe pineapple, lemon drop, apple, pear, crushed stone, spices and minerals, plus a whiff of goat cheese that reminded me of a Burgundy from pure calcaire Supersweet and rich but with lovely harmonious acidity giving cut and verve to the penetrating flavors of nectarine, pear and dried candied fruits. Wonderfully tactile and vibrant chardonnay with superb persistence and finishing perfume. Here's a wine that would do major damage as a ringer in a flight of Burgundy grand crus.- Stephen Tanzer (05/2009)
