["The last few vintages have seen a real rise in quality with this wine relatively to the Boudots and 2002 continues this trend. There is noticeable wood spice here as well but not the toasty quality and there is an earthy elegance and complexity present here that is absent in the Boudots. But it's the sap and outstanding intensity that really set the two wines apart and this possesses compelling density and superb length. In sum, this is very classy juice with only the barest hints of finishing Nuits rusticity and I find the Murgers most impressive this vintage. BH"]
