Deep red-ruby. Highly spicy aromas of cherry and raspberry, with a hint of wasabi. Sweet, chewy flavors of black and red fruits, smoke, earth, minerals, cinnamon and mace, complicated by caramel, roasted nuts and toast from the 1% new barrels. Finishes extremely subtle and long, with suave, even tannins and compelling sweetness. The new oak component is seamlessly integrated. A superb showing for this pinot.- Stephen Tanzer (5/23)
