The 1999 Philip Togni Cabernet Sauvignon 750 ml is from the Napa Valley region of California.
Good full ruby. Sexy aromas of plum, truffle, mocha and musky coffee, plus a suggestion of old wood. Still quite dense, even young, with complex flavors of minerals, spices and underbrush. Boasts lovely silky sweetness but at the same time comes across as aromatic and nicely delineated, finishing with suave tannins and lovely persistence. I suspect Togni's barrels are better today but this ten-year-old library release possesses a firm spine and is in fine shape.- Stephen Tanzer (05/2009)
