Still closed and tannic, the 1995 requires an additional 5-6 years of cellaring. It should keep well through 2020. - eRobertParker.com, RP (1/2003)

Very youthful, with a ripe core of red currant and raspberry fruit and licorice flavor surrounded by creamy tannins. Plenty of smoke, mineral and tobacco notes chiming in, but this still has a ways to go, with plenty of grip still on the finish.--1995 Châteauneuf-du-Pape retrospective. Drink now through 2025. 20,000 cases made. –JM WS

Saturated ruby-red. High-pitched, mourvedre-dominated aromas of blackberry, shoe polish and licorice, with a lightly floral topnote. Very dense and very primary, with an intense spiciness at its core. Quite powerfully structured, even austere, and perhaps already shutting down. Finishes with huge but even palate-coating tannins and great length. This will age in bottle for many years. The best red wine I tasted from bottle during my time in the Southern Rhône in December 1998.- Stephen Tanzer (1/1999)
