At the top end, his 1990s are every bit as superb as his 1980s and 1985s. The spectacular Charmes-Chambertin-Vieilles Vignes (from 90-95 year old vines) is the essence of Pinot Noir, with a saturated color, intense nose of black fruits, flowers, and oak, and a phenomenal, port-like richness.
