About Silver Oak Cellars

Silver Oak Cellars was established in 1972 by Raymond Twomey Duncan and Justin Meyer, who set out to craft age-worthy, consistently high-quality Cabernet Sauvignon. Their first vintage, the 1972, set the course for a winery that has remained devoted to a single variety ever since.

Silver Oak makes two Cabernet Sauvignons, each from its own winery: one in Oakville, in Napa Valley, and one in Healdsburg, in Sonoma County's Alexander Valley. The two regions' distinct microclimates and soils give each wine its own character.

The winery is known for aging its Cabernet Sauvignon exclusively in American oak barrels, a signature of the house style, and in 2015 it acquired its own cooperage to craft those barrels. Silver Oak also ages its wines in bottle before release, so they are approachable on arrival yet capable of developing further in the cellar.

Silver Oak's wines are known for their elegance, balance and ageability, with rich flavors of black fruit, cassis and spice and a seamless integration of fruit, tannin and acidity. Their consistency has earned a loyal following and wide acclaim. Today, Silver Oak remains owned and operated by the Duncan family.
