Bright red-ruby. Musky, soil-driven aromas of black cherry, licorice and stone; the calcaire influence is apparent. Taut and backward but smooth, showing more generosity and depth of flavor than the Ouzeloy. A note of crushed stone carries through a lively finish. This will rely as much on its acidity as on its tannins for longevity. Pierre-Jean Roty reported that pHs for the estate's 2013--and 2012s--are in the relatively low 3.3 range.- Stephen Tanzer (01/2015)
