2005 Faiveley Clos Vougeot

Good deep ruby-red. Highly perfumed nose combines raspberry, minerals and licorice. Sappy and vibrant, with terrific underlying spine framing the dense, mineral-driven berry flavors. Quite youthfully tannic-in fact, this seemed to shut down in the bottle-but not hard. Has the energy and length for an extended evolution.- Stephen Tanzer (03/2008)
