This dense ruby/purple-colored 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits classic aromas of loamy soil, black currants, and cherries along with hints of new saddle leather, spice, dried herbs, and new wood. With medium body and elegant flavors, this still firm, tannic 2002 should be at its finest between 2007-2014. - Robert Parker (2/2005)

Bold and rich, but restrained. Tightly wound now, but manages to push a load of dense blackberry and currant flavors across the palate. Framed by a judicious use of vanilla-laced oak. Tannins are firm yet integrated. Give this youngster time, either by decanting or cellaring. Best from 2007 through 2014. 350 cases made. –JL WS

Good red-ruby. Black cherry, flowers, eucalyptus and tar on the nose. Fatter and lusher than the 23, with supple flavors of red cherry and mint. Offers a restrained sweetness but only moderate complexity and texture. Some green notes emerge with aeration. (According to winemaker Gary Brookman, the 21 Blank cabernet, the first crop from this vineyard just north of Caymus, ultimately proved to be thin and dominated by eucalyptus during its final months of elevage, and was sold off in bulk.)- Stephen Tanzer (5/25)
