Bright full ruby, more saturated than the '99. Pungent tarry oak, cassis, blackberry and a floral nuance on the nose. Supple and fat, with a pliant texture and good density. Flavor dominated by new oak and chocolate. Tannins seem finer than those of the '99.- Stephen Tanzer (5/2)
