Vintage Port is the pinnacle of fortified wine from the Douro Valley in northern Portugal, produced only in exceptional years and bottled unfiltered after just two years in cask, allowing it to develop remarkable complexity over decades in the bottle. The Douro Valley, one of the world's oldest demarcated wine regions, stretches inland from the coastal city of Porto (Oporto), where the wine has historically been aged and exported.
