Bright, deep red-ruby. Lovely perfume of blackberry, licorice and rose petal. An essence of Echezeaux on the palate, showing outstanding finesse and a light touch to the sappy flavors of dark fruits and salty minerals. Finishes with rising, unflagging length and an impression of weightlessness. I actually knocked down my score by half a point, as Laurent told me he expected to add a barrel of his Grands-Echezeaux to this wine: in November I preferred the Echezeaux.- Stephen Tanzer (01/2014)
