This is the finest Clos des Jacobins since the 1982, and unquestionably marks the resurrection of this long-moribund estate. A blend of 75% Merlot, 23% Cabernet Franc, and a dollop of Cabernet Sauvignon, it offers sumptuously sweet black cherry fruit intermixed with notes of dried herbs, espresso roast, spice box, and currants. With nicely integrated acidity, moderate tannin, and a medium to full-bodied mouthfeel, it will provide immense pleasure during its first 10-12 years of life. RP
