The outstanding 1999 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses has a medium to dark ruby color and an intense candied raspberry and sweet cherry-scented nose. Medium to full-bodied and ample, this wine has impressive concentration and structure. It is loaded with blackberries, cherries, blueberries, and violets. The cru's flavors last throughout its admirably, long, ripe tannin-filled finish. Projected maturity: 2004-2012.- Pierre Rovani (08/2001)

Absolute ink with lush, sexy, spicy violets and black fruits with velvet wrapped tannins and stunning depth. It is quite structured but the structure and power are hidden beneath all the pinot extract. This is seamless from start to finish and a brilliant Amoureuses. In fact so good, that Roumier believes this is the best Amoureuses he has ever made, even better than the '90 or '95. BH
