Latour's second wine exhibits a dark ruby/purple color as well as a nose of black fruits, ketchup, earth, and minerals. Moderately tannic and closed, it is reminiscent of its bigger brother. Give it 4-5 years of cellaring and enjoy it over the next two decades.- Robert Parker Jr. (04/2001)

Complex aromas of blackberry, coffee and spices, with hints of sweet tobacco, following through to a Medium-to full-body, with fine tannins and a lead pencil and berry character. Slightly hollow midpalate, but very enjoyable now.—'88/'98 Bordeaux blind retrospective (2008). Drink now. — JS (2009)

Medium red-ruby. Aromatic nose of currant, chocolate, leather and minerals. Dense and rather closed in on itself, with a mineral firmness contributing to the impression of youthful austerity. Firmly tannic but not hard on the finish, which offers sneaky length. This has evolved very nicely in barrel. Not a fat wine but offers excellent potential. ST
