About DuMOL

DuMOL made its first vintage in 1996 and is dedicated to nuanced, vineyard-focused Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from distinctive sites in the cool-climate Russian River Valley. Winemaker, viticulturist and partner Andy Smith leads a small, experienced team that aims for wines of depth, clarity and elegance through careful, vintage-specific farming.

DuMOL believes that the best fertilizer is the footsteps of the farmer. It works with a portfolio of estate and grower-partner vineyards, mostly within about 10 miles of one another. Its estate vineyard sits on east-facing ridgetop parcels in the Green Valley district of the Russian River Valley, roughly 10 miles from the Pacific Ocean, and the winery has been based in Windsor since 2008.

Beyond its core Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, DuMOL produces small lots of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chenin Blanc and Mencía from vineyards in Sonoma and Napa. Most of the wines are allocated to the winery's mailing list, with select bottlings reaching top restaurants and retailers.
