About Domaine de la Romanée-Conti

Domaine de la Romanée-Conti (DRC) is one of the most prestigious and iconic wine estates in the world, synonymous with excellence, rarity and extraordinary quality. Its name comes from its most famous vineyard: in 1760, Louis François de Bourbon, Prince de Conti and a member of the French royal family, acquired the renowned Romanée vineyard, which thereafter became known as Romanée-Conti. The modern domaine took shape after Jacques-Marie Duvault-Blochet purchased the vineyard in 1869, and today it is co-owned by the de Villaine family, his descendants, and the Leroy family.

The flagship Romanée-Conti vineyard covers just 1.8 hectares (about 4.4 acres) in Vosne-Romanée and is a monopole, owned entirely by the domaine, as is La Tâche. DRC also owns and farms parcels in other exceptional Grand Cru vineyards in the Côte de Nuits, including Richebourg, Romanée-Saint-Vivant, Grands-Échezeaux and Échezeaux, as well as a small holding in Le Montrachet in the Côte de Beaune.

The domaine's philosophy centers on meticulous vineyard management, low yields and an unwavering commitment to quality, with farming that follows organic and biodynamic principles. Harvesting is done by hand, and in the cellar DRC follows traditional methods, allowing the wines to express the purity and complexity of each vineyard site. Today, the domaine is co-directed by Perrine Fenal and Bertrand de Villaine, representing its two owning families.

The wines of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti are widely regarded as the pinnacle of Pinot Noir, with extraordinary depth, complexity, finesse and the ability to age gracefully for decades. Because production is so limited, DRC wines are highly sought after by collectors around the world and are among the rarest and most difficult wines to acquire.

At Aabalat Fine & Rare Wines, we offer a changing selection of DRC vintages. Explore the available wines below to find your next addition to the cellar.
