The NV Extra-Brut Premier Cru Sous Le Mont is the only wine in this series that is single-vintage, in this case, 2005. Green tea, dried flowers, sage, hard candy and mint are all layered into the finish. This attractive, mid-weight Champagne is quite pretty, but very much delicate and feminine in style. I expect the Sous Le Mont to gain in complexity as more recent vintages are added into the blend, but for now, there is little question it is the least interesting of the six lieu-dit Champagnes. Disgorgement date: January 27, 2012. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2017. - Antonio Galloni (31-10-2012)

The most rose-colored and aromatic of the three Pinots in the lieu-dit collection, the NV Extra-Brut Mareuil sur Aÿ Sous Le Mont lifts from the glass with exotic aromatics and delicate fruit. Gracious and feminine in style, the Sous Le Mont nevertheless possesses terrific energy and cut. I am not sure there is much upside from cellaring bottles further, but this year's release is a big step up from some of the earlier versions. That much is clear. Disgorged April 14, 2014 and bottled with no dosage.- Antonio Galloni (11/2014)
