The 2003 Slacker, a 400-case blend of 68% Syrah, 22% Grenache, and 10% Mourvedre, is an elegant, spicy effort displaying notions of plums, figs, raspberries, and crushed rocks. Displaying a European sensitivity in its streamlined, medium-bodied personality, it is a fruity, elegant, long, seductive, harmonious red to enjoy over the next 4-5 years. RP
(68% syrah, 22% grenache and 1% mourvedre) Medium-deep red. Superripe, slightly high-toned aromas of black cherry, pepper and smoke. Powerful, structured wine, with slightly aggressive black cherry and pepperflavors. Not especially fruity or sweet. The wine's sound acids come largely from the grenache, says Trevisan.
