Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Saunders Vineyard has an expressive black cherry, black berry and black plum-scented nose with suggestions of charcuterie, violets, crushed rocks and pencil lead plus a waft of cigar box. Full-bodied, rich, ripe and jam-packed with black fruits and savory layers, it has a firm foundation of ripe, grainy tannins and great freshness, finishing long with some spices coming through.-LPB
Now in its second vintage here, 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Saunders Vineyard is gorgeous. Racy and layered in the glass, the 2015 captures the essence of this hillside sector of eastern Oakville. Super-ripe red cherry, plum, licorice, lavender and spice are some of the many notes that are fused together. The aromatics and fruit are really popping in this gorgeous hillside Cabernet. Beams of underlying minerality and tannin carry through to the super-expressive finish.-AG
