The 2009 Bonnes Mares is another explosive wine. Firm tannins support a huge core of dark fruit in this big, structured Burgundy. Dujac’s holdings in Bonnes Mares slightly favor the terres rouges and that quality seems to come through loud and clear in the wine’s intensity, depth and gravitas. Anticipated maturity: 2024-2039.-AG

Good bright red. Cooler but explosive nose offers black cherry, rose petal, dusty brown spices, menthol and sexy oak; conveys a distinct crushed fruit character. Reticent but silky and sweet, with terrific energy and definition to its cherry, mineral and spice flavors. This wonderfully rich, long, firmly tannic wine will require extended aging.- Stephen Tanzer (03/2012)
