Few vineyards in Napa Valley possess the history and reputation of Eisele Vineyard. First planted in the 1880s, this remarkable site on the eastern edge of Calistoga earned its place among Napa's elite long before the estate bottled wine under its own name. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, fruit from Eisele Vineyard was sought after by legendary producers including Ridge Vineyards and Joseph Phelps, whose vineyard-designated bottlings helped establish Eisele as one of the most revered sources of Cabernet Sauvignon in America.

In 1990, Bart and Daphne Araujo acquired the property and elevated the estate to even greater heights, introducing meticulous organic and biodynamic farming practices while producing some of Napa Valley's most collectible wines. In 2013, ownership passed to the Pinault family, owners of the iconic Château Latour in Bordeaux. Today, Eisele Vineyard remains one of the world's most respected wine estates, producing wines of extraordinary purity, precision, and longevity that faithfully reflect this historic vineyard site.

96 pts - James Suckling

A medium-bodied red with a tight and focused palate of blackberries, blueberries, dark chocolate and spices. Solid structure with muscular tannins. 85% cabernet sauvignon, 9% cabernet franc and 6% petit verdot. Needs three to four more years. - FEB 2026

["Gorgeous red and black fruits, leather, dried flowers, and Asian spice all emerge from the 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Altagracia, a blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Cabernet Franc, and 6% Petit Verdot from estate fruit sourced from the surrounding, more hillside and volcanic parcels of the estate. Aged 21 months in 78% new oak with 22% used Austrian and French foudres, it's remarkably pure and medium to full-bodied, with ripe, velvety tannins and a great finish. It doesn't have the same elegance as the Grand Vin, yet it's still a brilliant wine in its own right that will unquestionably evolve for upwards of two decades. Drink 2025-2045. - DEC 2025"]
