The 2015 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Clos des Porrets Saint Georges is—like the Vaucrains—already beginning to shut down, gradually unfurling in the glass with aromas of cassis, currant leaf, rich spice and raw cocoa. On the palate, the wine's fine-grained tannins take center stage for the moment, but its depth, concentration and energy are all very promising: the only missing ingredient is time.- William Kelley (04/2018)

Good dark red. Aromas of blackberry and licorice show a spicier quality than the 2016 version. Large-scaled, voluminous and fine-grained, offering classically dry flavors of dark berries and chocolate. A serious, deep Nuits-Saint-Georges with little easy sweetness--and not at all showy in the early going. The supple but substantial tannins will need time. This wine has a fairly high pH of 3.6 but displays a juicy aspect that augurs well for its future life in bottle.- Stephen Tanzer (01/2018)
