(a blend of 8% cabernet sauvignon, 12% merlot and 8% petit verdot) Good dark red. Cool but complex nose melds cherry, currant, cedar and lead pencil. Sweet on entry, then lively in the middle palate, with cool flavors of maraschino cherry, redcurrant, loam and mint. Higher-pitched and less pliant than the Eisele Vineyard cabernet, without the lush texture and ripeness of that wine. The tannins are less fine, but this second wine shows very good persistence.- Stephen Tanzer (5/24)
