The 1990 Guigal Chateauneuf du Pape 750 ml is from the Chateauneuf du Pape region of Rhone. Guigal, founded in 1946 by Etienne Guigal in the ancient village of Ampuis, is in the heart of Côte-Rôtie. Beginning in 1923 at the age of 14, Etienne Guigal made wine for over 67 vintages before retiring and turning the reigns over to his son, Marcel Guigal, in 1961. Marcel's hard work and perseverance enabled the Guigals to acquire several other wineries to expand their portfolio of estate-owned vineyards, including Vidal-Fleury (1984), Jean-Louis Grippat (2000), and Domaine de Vallouit (2000). As of today, Guigal now draws their fruit from vineyards in Côte-Rôtie, Hermitage, Saint-Joseph, Condrieu, Saint-Joseph, Crozes-Hermitage, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas, Tavel and Côtes-du-Rhône.
