Pale yellow. Musky aromas of mirabelle, toasted brioche, lemon, rose petal and spices. Densely packed and youthfully closed, even austere, but hints at lovely high notes of jasmine and fleur de sel. Very unforthcoming on the spicy back end and in need of seven or eight years in the cellar. But long on potential. (I tasted a bottle of the 2007 Vaudesir, done entire in cuve, and was seduced by its saline, sake-like aromas and silky texture. This bottle, which I rated 92 points, is at the captivating stage between young and mature and is perfect for drinking now.)- Stephen Tanzer (07/2014)
