Hestan Vineyards / Thomas Rivers Brown

posted by Karen Orlandi on July 6, 2015 in Wineries

The Hestan Cabernet is made by winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown, whose association alone makes this wine in high demand. As of this posting there are no scores out for the 2011, but previous years have earned Hestan high accolades and typically mid-90's ratings from critics. The wines age gracefully, thanks to the highly tannic, fruit-forward style of these wines - so you should definitely try to store these for a few years.

Wine Terminology Explained (because there is a lot of lingo)

Using erobertparker.com and learnaboutwine.com, I've complied this glossary terms to help you truly dive deep into the minds of critics and other serious wine enthusiasts when they use words that are beyond our everyday vocabulary, at least in the context of wine. And, in all honesty, it helped me when I was first starting out in this business - I referenced it almost daily - because, as with every industry, wine has its own lingo.
